Parent Student Teacher Conferences – Oct 19 – online – Conferences will be held from 9am – 3:30 pm. Please see the website for information on HOW to book a conference when the window opens. Coco Brooks Fundraising Opportunity - A new fundraiser has started! Students can now sell Coco Brooks and will earn 15-20% profit to use on school fees as needed. Orders will be due to Mrs. Schmidt with money on October 21st by 3:38 pm and orders will be ready for pick up on November 5th from 3:30-4:00 outside the Cosmetology doors. Messages from Student Services - Student Services will be hosting an Indigenous/FNMI Graduation and Next Steps group discussion for those students that identify as Indigenous/FNMI. The meeting will discuss graduation requirements, post-secondary bridging and pathway options, upgrading opportunities and more! Please come to the Learning Lodge in Room 1017 at lunch on Wednesday October 7th, bring your lunch.
Grade 12's are responsible to begin booking their grad checks next week with their school counsellor. The bookings are first come, first book in Student Services and a new schedule is available at the start of each week. We expect Grad checks to continue into the new year, but encourage students to sign up sooner than later!
We encourage grade 11 and 12 students to attend the many post-secondary booths and information sessions taking place over the next few months at Bowness. Students should attend with personalized questions and inquiries to help them determine their next steps after high school. The updated schedule for visits can be found on our Student Services Wellness D2L page, along with other important resources!
Unique Pathways Information Night
Through partnerships with post-secondary institutions, industry and community organizations, Unique Pathways offers CBE students hands-on Exploratory programs and Dual Credit opportunities while still in school. High school students and families are invited to the fall Unique Pathways Information Night on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at the CT Centre to learn more, meet partners, and explore opportunities connected to future education, careers and interests. The UP website is still being updated, so if you want the latest information on programs, please go to the Information Night. Check out the website for the opportunities. Program areas include: IT, business, health, recreation, human services, natural resources, trades or transportation! There are amazing programs added like pharmacy tech, finishing trades, hairstylist, marketing, welding, aviation-aircraft systems, criminal justice, veterinary practice-the team connection, solving technology problems, medical terminology, electrical trades and so on! Attending Football Games at Shouldice? – Cost to attend is $2 and you must show student ID or your schedule on PowerSchool – if you don’t have both, you will be turned away at the gate.
Game Donations - to help our students disconnect from their phones and provide them with an opportunity to spend time together, Ms. Martinez will be offering a board games club during lunch on Mondays and Wednesdays. To build the library in the classroom, we are looking for donations. If you have a board game you no longer use and would like to donate, we would be happy to take it! If you would like to contribute and can do so, please send the game with your student to Ms. Martinez in Room 1033. Thank you for helping us create a fun and welcoming space for students to connect.
