Students taking CTS courses with Safety Modules

Attendance in all Bowness High School courses is expected and necessary for academic success. However, in Career and Technology Studies (CTS) courses with mandatory safety modules (Automotive Mechanics, Construction, Trades Centre and Culinary Arts) attendance is critical in the first several days.

The above courses include safety training that must be mastered prior to moving on in the curriculum. As such, if a student is absent or does not engage in the requisite steps within the safety module, they risk being removed from the course. Teachers will be communicating this information to parents before removal is considered to attempt to keep the student in the course. Once a safety module is completed by a class, it is difficult to accommodate a single student in completion of this process.

We look forward to providing students with safe, engaging, hands-on experiences in our CTS programs.
